INSTITUTE OF VALUERS FIRST ANNUAL CONFERENCE At the first annual conference of the New Zealand Institute of Valuers, held at Wellington, Mr N. H. Mackie presided. It was reported that the membership of the Institute was nearly 350 and that branches had been established with headquarters at Auckland. Palmerston North. Wellington. Christchurch, Timaru, Dunedin and Invercargill. It was decided that members on military service should be exempt from payment of fees if in receipt of military pay only. Progress in the matter of establishing libraries was reported, and it was resolved that Lincoln College and Auckland University College examinations on valuing should be accepted as a qualification for associate membership of the institute. Financial provision was made for the establishment of statistical bureaux in respect of urban and rural records.
