A DAISY BAROMETER
With a round sponge and some daisies quite an interesting little weather teller can be made. Tie a string to the sponge so that it can be suspended and then soak the sponge in water. Shorten the daisy stalks and push these into the holes all over the sponge. A fine day will be indicated if the flowers are wide open, if conditions are uncertain the blooms will be half open, and they will be closed if rain is coming. Dandelions and yellow hawkweeds will be just as effective if daisies are not available.
