TACTICS AGAINST CONVOYS

A report to the British United Press from Berlin states that Admire Meurer, writing in the "Hamburger Tageblatt,” urges Germany to employ surface craft in addition to submarines against British convoys which, he confesses, present difficulties to U-boats. He adds: "The battle against convoys, which include important transports, should be carried out by cruisers, destroyers and heavy units, since the German Navy’s chief task is a ruthlc - war on -ommerce.”
