DAMAGES CLAIM
JUDGMENT FOR PLAINTIFF By Tel egraph-wPress Association AUCKLAND, November 21. After an hour's retirement, the jury in the Okalhau claim, in which Richard Marsh claimed £2522 damages from Norman Absolum respecting the death of the plaintiff’s wife after a collision with defendant's cur, driven by a Maori, William Paki, found that Paki had no Intention of using defendant’s car in such a way as to commit suicide or cause injury to his son, and also that he did not Intentionally drive the car into Mrs Marsh’s car. They found that the collision was due to Paki's negligence, and assessed damages suffered by the plaintiff at £l6OO, and by his two daughters at £75 each. Both counsel moved for judgment, Mr Justice Fair reserved judgment until later.
