GAPES VALLEY
MEETING OF GUILD The Gapes Valley Guild held its last meeting for the year at the residence of Mrs W. P. D. Barker. After afternoon tea a competition arranged by Mrs Barker, was held, the winner being Miss Nancy Dean. Mrs Barker spoke of the departure from the district shortly of Mrs Donnithorne, -who had been a helpful Guild member. She also referred to Mrs Donnithorne’s cheerful disposition, which was a great influence with people whom she came in contact. Mrs Barker presented Mrs Donnithorne with a small momento from the Guild. Mrs V. LeLievre and Canon Norris also endorsed Mrs Barker’s remarks. Mrs Donnithorne suitably replied. A vote of thanks was passed to Mrs Barker for her hospitality.
