DEATH FOLLOWS ALTERCATION
Agent Charged With Manslaughter United Press Association—Bv Electiu Telegraph - Copyright (Received September 12, 11.45 p.m.) SYDNEY, September 12. A New Zealand journalist, Gervaine G. McDonald, employed by Associated Newspapers, Limited, Sydney, died today from injuries received on Saturday during an altercation at Bondi. McDonald, who was Court reporter on the “Sun” was allegedly involved in an argument in which blows were struck. He fell, striking his head heavily on the footpath, and suffered a fractured skull. He did not regain consciousness. McDonald's father is a barrister in Wellington. John Kirkwood, aged 30. an agent, was arrested and charged with having feloniously slain McDonald. He was remanded at the Paddington Court till next Monday. Bail was refused.
