Timaru Association ' I [ “ Herald ” Shield Final I The final shoot for "The Timaru 1 Herald" Shield took place on th-? West ' End Club's range on Thursday night. 1 The competition, consisting of four j j rounds, is divided into four grades and ' I the winners of each section meet in th? j ■ I final. ■ The grade winners competing were— | . Timaru A2. Timaru 82. Pleasant Point •' C. and Otipua D. Keen interest was taken in the shooting. Timaru B2 with the creditable score off the rifle of 394 cut of a possible 400 ; were the winners. At the supper after the shoot-off the! president of the Association (Mr W. J | Taylor) extended a welcome to the i visitors and said it was pleasing to see ! most of the clubs had representatives, present. After apoligising for the | . absence of Mr G. Kerr. Mr Taylor l expressed thanks to the Herald Com- ■ I pany for the liberal space which had been given miniature rifle shooting.' The publicity given had done much to • stimulate shooting in the district. » In presenting the Shield to the Timaru B2 team.
