APPEAL FOR FUNDS DEFERRED By TelPgraDD Presf’ Assccintion AUCKLAND, September 11. A decision to postpone for the imnediale present the appointment of ar trganiser to undertake the appeal foi unds for the proposed new Anglicar Cathedral for Auckland was reachec it a meeting of the cathedral comniltce of te Diocese of Auckland. Archbishop Averill said the meetinc rad been called for the purpose o! considering the appointment of an organiser of the appeal for funds tc LUgment the bequest of the late Mis; /Tina Tait Horton. In view of the >resent circumstances it had been decided to postpone the appointment fn he immediate persent and Dean Fancourt and Archdeacon Simkin woulc ict in making arrangements for the irosecution of the appeal as soon a; n the judgment of the committee the ime was opportune, and to make recommendations to the committee. “The fund has been open for the ast two years,” added Archbishop kverill, “and while the diocesar lulhorities would welcome any conributions which may be made to il hey arc particularly anxious that nc ippeal for the cathedral should interere with or militate against the apjeals which the committee feeLs musi nevitably be made for purposes arisng out of the present crisis.”
