WINCHESTER TENNIS AND CROQUET CLUBS

ANNUAL MEETING Mr R. Armstrong presided over a small attendance at the annual meeting of the Tennis and Croquet Clubs. Mrs D. A. Pearce, secretary, presented the- annual report and balancesheet. The report stated that the season had been most successful. Two teams had been entered in the Temuka Town and Country competition but were not successful in winning the shield. A presentation had been made to Mr and Mrs R. A. Telfer who had left the district. The club was indebted to Mr Armstrong for the enthusiasm and interest he had shown. A member of the club, R. L. Moore, had been successful in winning the Town and Country singles’ championship. The thanks of the club were due to the Domain Board for its assistance; to car owners for conveying players to outside games, to Mr and Mrs R. Armstrong and to Mr f. Munro (auditor). Braddick; secretary, Mrs D. A. Pearce; treasurer, Mr D. Louden; committee, Mesdames R. Armstrong, C. Dennison. D. A. Pearce. H. Hopkins, A. Gudsell, Messrs C. C. Higinbottom. D. Louden, R. L. Moore, M. Braddick; delegates to the Town and Country Association, Messrs Armstrong and Louden; ladder officer, R. L. Moore. It was decided to enter two teams in the competition. The following officials were appointed to take charge of the events and stalls at the gala day on September 9. Baby show, judges, Mesdames A. W Buzan, G. Fletcher and T.
