LAST TRIBUTE
L. 'IE MR M. J. DOYLE A representative body of citizens, including the Mayor and Borough Councillors and the directors and employees of “The Timaru Herald,” attended the funeral yesterday of the late Mr M. J. Doyle. Requiem Mass was celebrated at the Sacred Heart Church by the Rev. Father P. J. Smyth. S.M., after which a large cortege followed the remains to the Timaru Cemetery. The service at the graveside was conducted by the Rev. Father S. O’Connor, S.M. Mesrs J. Kane, D. Doyle, Junr., D. J. Doyle, W. Doyle, T. G. Doyle and Thos. Doyle acted as pall-bearers. Wreaths were sent by the Mayor, Councillors and Staff of the Timaru Borough Council, Ven. Archdeacon and Mrs Monaghan and family, Mr Patrick Kane and family, Mr C. E. Kerr, Mr and Mrs E. G. Kerr, manager and staff of Dominion Motors, Ltd., Mrs Gill, Mr and Mrs Christian, Junr., Mr F. Gruhn, Mr and Mrs T. P. Crowe, St. Patrick’s Table Tennis Club, directors and staff of “The Timaru Herald,” St. John’s Tennis Club, Mr and Mrs A. J. Allport, directors Cordials Ltd., Mr and Mrs Cranston and Muriel; Mr and Mrs H. Pateman, Misses Anne, Peg and Joan Kane, Misses Jessie McCurdy and Brenda Gawith, Mr and Mrs F. Dossett, Mr and Mrs Joe Kane, Mr and Mrs Gerald McCarthy, Miss K. Kane (Wellington).
