NO NEWS OF ATLANTIC FLYER United Press Association— By Electric Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, May 30. Hope has virtually been abandoned | for the American airman, Thomas H. Smith, aged twenty-five, who took off from Old Orchard, Maine, on Sunday, in an attempt to cross the North Atlantic. There is nothing to confinn the report that the machine which was sighted thrice yesterday was his. This machine was sighted at several points, including Foynes and Renfrew. The Speke aerodrome (Liverpool) later announced the passage of an aeroplane resembling Smith’s, but i its identity was not confirmed.
