At a meeting of the Timaru branch of the Toe H on Tuesday, J. Bentley gave a very instructive talk on scouting from the origin to the functioning of the Scouting Association in New Zealand. He concluded by giving members an idea of how Toe H in New Zealand is co-operating with the Scouts at their forthcoming Jamboree in Wellington at Christmas. To-morrow at 1.30 p.m. at the Wentworth Auction Mart, Runciman Pryor Ltd. will offer by auction on account of a deceased estate quantity jewellery, also on account liquidator 10 radios, also furniture, pianos, etc. One of the exhibits in the London Museum is the dress worn by Miss Florence Horsburgh, M.P.. when she moved an address in reply to the King’s Speech at the opening of Parliament; she was the first woman M.P. to have this honour.
