Fixtures Altered Waimate to Timaru Event SEASON’S FIXTURES Owing to alterations in the dates arranged for the Canterbury crosscountry championship and the national championships it has been found necessary to re-arrange the local fixtures. The following fixtures were approved at a meeting of the Timaru Harrier Management Committee held this week:— Saturday, June 10—Waimate to Timaru road relay handicap race. Saturday, June 17—The Sign of the Takahc to Akaroa road relay race. Saturday, July 15—The Orr-Walker cup race, South Canterbury junior and senior championships, Caroline Bay. Saturday, July 29 —Canterbury cross-country championship, Cashmere course, Christchurch. Saturday, August 12—New Zealand cross-country championships, Hastings, Hawke's Bay Centre. Saturday, August 12—Norrie cup and Maxwell memorial cup race, West End Park. Saturday, August 19—Temuka to Timaru road race.

Saturday, September 9—lnter-club athletic relay sports meeting, Ashbury Park.

WAIMATE TO TIMARU Record entries have been received for this very interesting event. A total of 16 teams will take part—96 competitors in all—an increase of 30 runners over last year’s figures. NOTES FOR COMPETITORS Registered Numbers Runners should note in crosscountry running that numbers are worn on the chest, not on the back as in track racing. All competitors who are already registered must wear their numbers and new runners will be issued with numbers prior to the race. Club Uniforms —Teams should make a point of running in Club colours as this will be very helpful to officials. All competitors are not known personally to officials. Be Punctual All information will be given through the newspapers in reference to transport. Team captain should see to it that their teams are punctual at the place of departure of cars, the Timaru Post Office. Cars will leave in ample time to make sure of every runner being on hand to take over the baton from his team mate.
