ADDINGTON

Fat Sheep Dearer Other Sections Easier By Telegraph—Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, May 31. Except in the fat and store sheep sections, the tendency at the weekly stock market at Addington to-day was towards slightly easier values. A few pens of good sheep were included in the store sheep offering of 1500 head. A well woolled line of threequarterbred two and three shear ewes sold at 19 3, and a small line of mixed age Romney cross at 10/6. Many of the other pens made 7/- to 8/-. Fairly forward lambs made to 12/-. Fat Lambs The entry totalled about 700, against 1190 last week, only a few pens were up to butchers’ standards and these had a fairly good sale. The remainder of the entry went weakly at export parity with roughest sorts from as low as 7/-. Fat Sheep The entry was about 4500 compared with 5000 a week ago. On the average good wethers were better than a week ago by 1/6 to 2/-, and good ewes by 1/- to 1/6, while lighter sheep were about 1/- dearer than last week. Values were:—

Fat Cattle The entrj’ of fat cattle was 530 compared with 480 last week. The sale was somewhat disappointing, the improvement of 10/- to 15/- a head recorded last week for the better sorts being largely lost. A lot of plain but fairly heavy beef sold about 30/- per 1001 b and only exceptional pens reached 33/-. Values were:—

Pigs A heavy entry of porkers had a depressing effect on the market and all classes were easier except finest quality which maintaind last week’s rates. Choppers were in medium numbers and again met a good sale at unchanged rates. Baconers were in heavier supply and only best quality maintained the values of a week ago. Plain and unfinished sorts were 3/to 4/- easier. Values were:—
