The building was 100 feet square :nd contained 30.000 feet of sawn tin.'oer. a portion of which was kauri on o~der to London. The loss L estimated -t £2OOO and £l3OO is coveied by insurance. Three-quarters of a million feet of timber in the yard was saved by the strenuous efforts of a bucket brigade. The mill had a capacity of 10.000 feet daily. Fourteen men were employed. but the owners say that they intend to rebuild immediately ano will keep the employees in work as tar as possible.
