The King and Queen have accepted four proofs of portrait etching of the King by a former Australian artist. Henry Rayner, which Queen Mary recently noticed at an amateur art exhibition. Queen Mary requested proofs for herself and the King. Mr Rayner went to England in 1934, and was almost bedridden for several years. In an interview Mr Rayner said he had struck a bad patch in 1933, and was reduced to street begging, trying to sell his etchings, of which he sold 2000 last year at 6d each. Although he sold some for between £2 and £3.
