A Quiet Waterfront

The N.Z. Shipping Co.’s Otaio continued loading and sailed yesterday afternoon for Lyttelton, Gisborne, Napier and Wanganui to complete loading for London, Avonmouth, Liverpool and Glasgow. The Karu, which arrived last night from Oamaru, will leave to-day for Lyttelton, Nelson and New Plymouth. The Waipiata, from Oamaru, is due to-day to load for Wellington and Auckland, via Lyttelton. The Breeze, from Oamaru, is expected to-morrow to load for Wellington, Picton and Wanganui, via Lyttelton.

The Wainui, from Oamaru, is due to load for Napier and Gisborne, via Lyttelton. The Waipori, from Dunedin, is also due on Thursday to load for Sydney, via Lyttelton. The Waiana, from Dunedin, is expected on April 30 to load for Wellington and Auckland, via Lyttelton. The Holmlea, from Dunedin, is due on Friday to load for Wellington, New Plymouth and Waikato Heads. The Holmglen is due from Dunedin on Wednesday, to load for Wellington, New Plymouth and Waikato Heads, via Lyttelton. The Port Waikato, from Dunedin, is due on April 26 to load for Auckland, via Wellington. The Port Whangarei, from Dunedin, is expected on April 27 to load for Tauranga, Auckland, and Whangarei, via Lyttelton. Tekoa Leaves Liverpool

The New Zealand Shipping Company has received cabled advice that the Tekoa left Liverpool on April 12, for Auckland, Napier, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. She is due at Auckland on May 19.

Port Montreal Leaves Halifax

The M.-A.-N.Z. Line has received cabled advice that its motor ship Port Montreal left Halifax on Ap'-il 18 for Auckland, Wellington. Lvr.delr.nn, and Dunedin. She is due at Auckland on May 9.

Tongariro Arrives Home

Cabled advice has been received by the New Zealand Shipping Company that the Tongariro reached Southampton on April 8. She left Port Chalmers on March 1 for Southampton, London, and Newcastle-on-Tyne via the Panama Canal.

The Imperial Monarch

The British steamer Imperial Monarch, due at Auckland from Freeport, United States, to-morrow, has 8,548 tons of sulphur for discharge in New Zealand. She will complete at Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Wanganui.

London's Shipping

During the week ended March 17, 1,011 vessels, representing 1,027,028 net register tons, used the Port of London. Of. these, 494 vessels (793,815 net register tons) were to and from Empire and foreign ports, and 517 vessels (233,213 net register tons) were engaged in coastwise traffic. The arrivals included seven meat cargoes—three from Australia, two from New Zealand, and two from South America —comprising 378,000 carcases of lamb and mutton, 110,000 quarters of beef, quantities of po*k. rabbits, and sundries.
