Mrs Elsie Freeman of Wellington, who is travelling throughout New Zealand explaining the objectives of the "Women of To-day,” movement and their policy of peace will speak at the Little Playhouse to-night. A special invitation is extended to all women.
Commencing at 1.30 p.m. to-day at the Power Board Sub-station, Coonoor Road, A. N. Oakey and Co. will conduct a clearing sale of superior and practically new oak furniture under instructions from Mr D. A. Stewart, who is leaving for the North Island. A special bus will leave the Bank of New Zealand at two minutes past one and in the event of wet weather clients are requested to ’phone 41 for information.
The attention of the South End Ratepayers is drawn to the advertisement regarding their annual meeting on Thursday next.
The Railways Department advertises in this issue particulars of the suspension of trains (with certain exceptions) on Anzac Day, Tuesday, April 25.
