OFFICER FAREWELLED
PRESENTATION TO MR E. C. J. FOOT Yesterday afternoon the staffs of the Employment Office and the Placement Office gathered to bid farewell to Mr E. C. J. Foot, who has been transferred to the position of District Employment Officer. Dunedin. Mr Wallace, on behalf of the Employment staff, said that Mr Foot had always been a very capable and understanding officer, and that the smooth running of the work of the Employment section was a tribute to his efficient leadership. Mr R. G. Sampson expressed the appreciation of the State Placement Service of Mr Foot's co-operation, and wished him every success in his new capacity. The newly elected Registrar of Social Security, Timaru recalled his long- and pleasant association with Mr Foot both personally and in his official capacity, and said that the parting was almost a parting of brothers. Various members of the staff then voiced their personal appreciation, and Miss Stenhouse. senior typiste. made the presentation of a travelling rug to Mr Foot. In reply.
