Mrs O. Parr presided at the monthly meeting of the Skipton Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union, which was held at her residence. Information was given regarding the inter-provincial conference which is to be held on March 1 and members were requested to attend. Two new members were admitted. A travel talk was given by Mrs C. K. Bruce, for which she was accorded a vote of thanks. The Golden Thread, “February in the Garden,” was prepared by Miss Maxwell and was very instructive. The president extended a welcome to Miss Hammond, a visiting member. Mrs Gray acted as hostess .for the afternoon
Competitions resulted as follows: Scones: Mrs Parr 1, Miss Maxwell 2, Mrs Maxwell 3. Arranged vase sweet peas: Mrs Scarlett 1, Mrs Parr 2, Miss I. Gudex 3. Hand-worked apron: Miss Gudex 1, Mrs Gudex 2, Miss Maxwell 3.
