FIRE IN FACTORY
TWO FIREMEN INJURED Bv Telegraph—Press Association AUCKLAND, Feruary 23 Two firemen were hurt and a third narrowly escaped injury in fighting a fire which broke out at the Taupo Timber Company’s factory at Newmarket early this morning. As a result of the fire fighters’ efforts the blaze was quickly suppressed, and the main building and big stocks of timber in the adjoining yard were saved. The firemen, who suffered injury, were Messrs P. Gavin and D. Randall, who received cuts from falling glass. The fire was discovered by a constable. The origin was the boiler house at the rear of the factory, where a hopper of dry shavings was ignited. More than 1.000,000 feet of timber was stored immediately behind the scene of the fire.
