TENNIS SURPRISE.— The biggest, upset of the United Slates national tennis championships was sprung by Margot Lumb, the hard-hitting English girl who swept Helen Hull Jacobs, jour times champion and favoured to win the crown again this year, off the court, 7-5, 6-2, in one of the preliminary rounds. The only bigger surprise could have been the defeat of Don Budge.
