AWATEA CONNECTS WITH FLYING-BOAT United Press Association —B* Electric Telegraph —Copyright (Received December 9, 10.30 pm.) SYDNEY, December 9. Although delayed by a gale yesterday the Awatea arrived in sufficient time this morning to enable New Zealand oversea Christmas air mails to be quickly transferred to the flying-boat Carpentaria after which she immediately began on the first stage of the flight to England.
