SOCIAL NOTES

Miss Joyce Draper, Wellington is the guest of Mrs P. V. Segar, Wai-iti Road. Mr and Mrs J. E. Hayman, Tasman Downs, who were guests at the Grosvenor, returned home yesterday. Mr and Mrs Desmond Unwin, Hart Street, will leave to-day to attend the Johnston-Rawnsley wedding which takes place in Christchurch to-day. Mr and Mrs Ivor Phillips, Wellington and Mrs N. L. Hutton, Dunedin, are the guests of Mrs Harold Broadhead, Nelson Terrace. Miss Guild, who has been staying with Mrs Andrew Guild, “Stratheam,” Temuka, has left to spend a few days in Wellington before returning to her home in Masterton. Mrs H. L. Graham, Evans Street, and her guests Mrs J. Christie and the Misses Christie, Monte Video, have returned from a trip to Lake Manipouri and the Eglinton Valley. Mrs R. Maxwell Sunley, Christchurch, will leave on Monday for Tirnaru to visit her son and daughter-in-law, Mr and Mrs R. Sunley, Park Lane, who early in the New Year will go to Hamilton, where they will make their home. Mrs F. Hall, Fairlie, and Miss Noni Hall will leave next week for Christchurch for the wedding of Mrs Hall’s daughter, Miss lima Hall to Mr Norman Nisbett. Mr and Mrs Roy Hall, Tirnaru, will also be visitors to Christchurch for the Nisbett-Hall wedding. The wedding took place in Christchurch recently of John Henry, youngest son of Mrs and the late Mr Abner Woollett, Cowper Street, Greymouth and Alma May, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs Bolden, Tirnaru. The Rev. N. R. Ward officiated.
