Reference has been made to Mr J. Wren’s New Zealand-bred colt Wilson, who was purchased for him by the South Australian trainer C. Wheeler. Wilson cast 1050gns, but another for which Mr Wheeler paid only 120gns is doing well. This colt was named Siegift, and has not been out of a place in his only five starts for three wins. He is still very green, but has shown determination and stamina in all his races and already good judges in Adelaide are selecting him as the i next winner of the South Australian Derby.
