Good general competition was displayed at to-day’s wool auctions, prices continuing firm. Comebacks and crossbreds also met with good inquiry. Greasy merino made to 21Sd per lb. The offering consisted of 12,063 bales of which 11,230 were sold, also 1144 privately. The average price of wool for the first three days this week was £l3/13/5 per bale or Ud per pound.

At the wool sales, 7157 bales were offered, including 2764 New Zealand; 5621 bales were sold. There was a moderate selection, and withdrawals were frequent all round. Bi iky scoureds declined 21 per cent., ordinaries 5 per cent, lower; crossbreds, fine, par to 5 per cent, down, and medium and coarse at par. Throughout the series, 104.200 Bales were offered, including 39,500 New Zealand, and 85.000 bales were .sold, including 31,500 New Zealand.
