He also submitted a waiting list of 31 patients from five hospital districts, the majority being from Southland. The secretary also reported that the Superintendent, Live Stock Division, Dunedin, had forwarded his report on the annual tuberculin test of the dairy herd, and as had been the case for some years past none of the animals had reacted, which was noted with satisfaction. Mr Todd, on behalf of the Farm Committee, reported that the new milking plant had been installed and seemed to be working satisfactorily, and that the shearing had been completed, the quantity of wool being slightly less than the previous year. Finance The treasurer submitted statement of receipts and statements for the seven months ended October 31, 1938, as compared with the estimates for the period. While the receipts were somewhat behind the amount anticipated, the expenditure was well below the estimate. The bank balance as at date of meeting was a credit one of £3206/3/3.

As in the past it was decided that no meeting be held in December, the next meeting of the committte to be held at Waipiata on Wednesday, January 25. Mr T. Golden, chairman of the Southland Board, and the secretary were authorised to pay the December account and salaries.

Before adjourning the chairman complimented the members of the committee on the very satisfactory and harmonious year of service, and wished them and the institutional and office staffs a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, to which Mr Ritchie responded on behalf of the committee and Mr Pryde on behalf of the staff.
