WHEN I AM THREE
When Michael and Jim go out to play, They both wear caps of red; And when it is a Sunday They wear white hats instead. But just because I’m very small And have such curly hair, I must not wear a cap at all, Now do you think that’s fair? When Michael and Jim meet a lady friend They say, “How do you do?” And Michael takes his hat off, Then Jim takes his off, too. But when I meet a lady I only stand and stare— A fellow cannot raise his hat If his head’s already bare.
