ROWING

INTERPROVINCIAL EIGHTS By Telegrapn —Press association DUNEDIN, November 9. The difference of opinion among oarsmen and members of the Otago Rowing Association on the question of whether the interprovincial eighths should be rowed on Otago Harbour at Easter, and whether such fixture would have a detrimental effect on the Queenstown regatta, formed the basis of a long discussion by the executive of the Association at Port Chalmers last night. At the annual meeting of the New Zealand Association, the Otago delegate, when an application for the earlier date did not meet with approval, accepted a race for Easter Saturday. It was eventually decided to set up a committee to communicate with the other associations concerned, pointing out the difficulties which stood in the way of holding the race here at Easter with a view of coming to a more suitable arrangement.
