DRIVERS’ AWARD

PARTIES TO CONFER By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, November 9. The conference which has been proposed between representaties of the New Zealand Drivers’ Federation and the employers following expressions of dissatisfaction by the workers with the award recently issued by the Second Court of Arbitration is expected to take place shortly. To-day the secretary of the Drivers’ Federation (Mr F. C. Allerby) said that most of the constituent organisations had met and had discussed the position, and the question had been left with the Federation to meet the employers and the employers would be invited to the conference. Asked whether the Federation of Labour would take any part in the conference, Mr Allerby said that that had not been decided yet, but the Drivers’ Federation would confer with the Federation of Labour to-morrow. The secretary of the New Zealand Employers’ Federation (Mr T. O. Bishop) to-night said that there had been no request from the Drivers’ Federation to the Employers’ Federation yet for a conference, though it was understood that one was coming.
