CLEARED UP
SEQUEL TO CRITICISM OF SOVIET LORD WINTERTON EXPLAINS Untied Press Association —By eiper-u Telegraph —Copyright (Received November 4, 6.30 p.m.) LONDON, November 4. There was an echo in the House of Commons of the recent public controversy between Lord Winterton and M. Maisky (Soviet Ambassador in London). In an answer on behalf of Mr Chamberlain, it was stated that M. Maisky, on October 10, called Lord Halifax's attention to the remarks of Lord Winterton in relation to the Soviet's intentions in the Czech crisis. It is understood that Lord Winterton had since had an opportunity of discussing the matter with M. Maisky. The Prime Minister’s answer added: "I hope any misunderstanding which may have arisen has now been cleared up.”
