CAUCUS CONCLUDES

Date ’ of Session Indefinite Social Security Act By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, November 4. The Government caucus finished this afternoon and the Prime Minister said afterwards that he would not comment on any of the proposed legislation until it was prepared, but there was nothing outstanding about it. Mr Savage said that the main job still concerned the Social Security Act and its administration. Appointments of commissioners had to be made, and general arrangements from a depart-

mental point ot view had to be considered. “We also have to meet the Friendly Societies, Hospital Boards, doctors and everybody concerned,” said Mr Savage. “Although the Act does not come into operation until April 1, we have no time to lose. Our main job Is consolidation.” Mr Savage also said that it was pretty certain that there would not be a session before the ordinary time in June, although an endeavour would be made to arrange it as early as possible. He was hoping to hold it in May.
