TIMARU LODGE
FORTNIGHTLY MEETING The fortnightly meeting of the Druids Lodge was held last Tuesday evening A. Bro. Soloman presiding over a fair attendance. The visiting Bards reported on ‘he various sick brethren and sick pay amounting to £3/19/2 was passed for payment. The Grand Lodge officers paid the Lodge* an official visit. Grand President Bro. Roberts, V.G.P. Bro. Robinson, grand secretary Bro. Talbot and I.G.P. Bro. Keay; all of whom addressed the meeting, and were listened to with great interest, especially the G.P.’s remarks about the Social Security Bill just passed by Parliament. He pointed out that after April 1, 1939, Lodge members would not have to pay for doctor, chemist or hospital. They woul ’. get the Lodge's sick pay as well as that from the Government. Bro. Robinson spoke on the good work done b the Royal Arch Chapters. Bro. Talbot spoke on finance, and Bro. Keay on the membership of the Order. The officers were given a hearty vote of thanks for their interesting addresses, and each in return thanked the members for the vote and for be attentive hearing given them.
