Good Cattle Market Fat Sheep Easier The St. Andrews sale held yesterday proved to be a good one so far as fat cattle were concerned. There was a large entry of fat sheep, two races being too many for butchers' requirements, there being a resultant drop of 3/- a head compared with the previous sale which was an outstanding one. HUNGARIAN AGRICULTURE The Hungarian Minister of Agriculture is preparing a large-scale propaganda campaign extending over 1350 towns and villages for the increased use of fertilisers as a method of enlarging and improving crops. In all these districts model farms will be erected on which the various superphosphates, nitrogenous and potassic fertilisers will be used. The model farms will be open to inspection by farmers from neighbouring districts and agricultural produce from them will be exhibited at all local shows. Britain to Buy Rumanian Wlieat A contract is being arranged between organisations acting for the Rumanian Government and a leading British firm for the sale in Britain of 400,000 tons of Rumanian w’heat, worth about £2.000,000. Stories that the British Government is a party to the deal are said to be without foundation, but it is reported that the Board of Trade has assisted in the negotiations. Part of the proceeds, it is stated, will be used to settle outstanding trade debts with Britain and to finance the importation of additional British goods into Rumania.
