One of the personal possessions that Princess Elizabeth packed in her blue leather handcase this year to take to Balmoral was her sketch book. Fired perhaps by the example of her two aunts, the Duchesses of Gloucester and Kent, the Princess has taken up sketching with enthusiasm. Views of, Balmoral provide her with plenty of picturesque detail, and she has made efforts to sketch the Corgis belonging to her and to Princess Margaret.
