COMBING OUT REBEL NESTS UNIQUE ARMS FINDER USED United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received October 31, 7.40 p.m.) LONDON, October Ct. The Gaza correspondent of "The News Chronicle” says: Eighteen search parties of Coldstream Guards and Northumberland Fusiliers combed the houses and searched B,OCO men, compelled women to show their hands to prove they were not men masquerading in women’s clothing. The troops used the new automatic firearms finder, consisting of a divining rod with a frame aerial, to which an electro magnetic apparatus was attached, emitting a howl when metal was detected. Unfortunately the finder detects any metal, consequently floors were torn up to disclose only tin cans, though several revolvers, ammunition and old Turkish shells, relics of Lord Allenby’s campaign, were discovered. The West Kents surprised a rebel court in the village of Megiddo which was scattered. One Arab was killed and the “judge” and another Arab were arrested.
