BARNARDO HELPERS’ LEAGUE
GARDEN PARTY HELD The members of Barnardo Helpers’ League were the guests of Dr. and Mrs Pitts at a garden party for their annual box opening. Mrs Acutt (London) assisted by Mrs Brock and Janet Shackleton and Keith McArthur opened the boxes. A competition, “Naming Leaves on a Board,” of plants found in the garden was much enjoyed. Mrs Acutt proposed a very hearty vote of thanks to Mrs Pitts, who had been their president for nearly 20 years, for so kindly entertaining them again. The motion was carried with enthusiasm.
