Another important addition to Everyman’s Library is Mrs Virginia Woolf’s novel, “To the Lighthouse"— a favourite among her books. It won the Northcliffe and Femina Vie Heureuse prizes and has been translated into many languages, including French, German, Spanish, and Italian. This is not the first novel by a living writer to appear as an Everjmian classic. Within the last year two others have been similar honoured: Mr Priestley’s “Angel Pavement,” and Mr Maugham’s “Cakes and Ale.”
