MOTOR COLLISION
TWO WOMEN INJURED By Telegraph—Press Association HASTINGS, October 28. Two young women were injured, one critically, when a light car in which they were driving collided with a motor truck on the Main South Road near Temahunga, 12 miles from Hastings, at 4.45 o’clock this afternoon. The injured were:— Miss Marjorie Gillies (24), of Maraetotara, Hawke’s Bay, extensive injuries and shock, condition critical. Miss June Stroutts (23), of Wanganui, fractured arm, facial abrasions, slight concussion and shock, condition serious. The car was virtually wrecked and the truck was badly damaged. ELDERLY WOMAN INJURED By Telegraph—Press Association NEW PLYMOUTH, October 28. A motor-car which struck an elderly woman at New Plymouth to-night had to be lifted off her before she could be released. She was Miss Jean Johnson, aged 60, a dressmaker. The car passed over her legs. She was sent to hospital suffering from concussion, shock, severe bruising and abrasions. The exact extent of the injuries w'as not ascertained.
