“PRIME” ELECTRIC FENCE A new departure in fencing is to be seen at Wright Stephenson and Co., Ltd’s, exhibit. This is the "Prime” Electric Fence. This new style of fencing has been adopted by many hundreds of New Zealand fanners, and in the Auckland province to-day there are over a thousand of these machines in operation. They are ideal for holding sheep, cattle, horses and pigs, and in South Canterbury have proved absolutely effective for turnip and rape breaks. Farmers would be well advised to Investigate this machine, and they will find that it is the most effective and economical method of fencing in use to-day. Four Oaks Flame Thrower, Daroux Emasculators and many other useful agency lines are also on view in this attractive exhibit.—(l) ANDREWS AND BEAVEN SOMETHING NEW IN FARM IMPLEMENTS Andrews and Beaven occupy a conspicuous part of the Show Grounds. They are featuring the Allis-Chalmers rubber-tyred tractors as well as tractors of the track type. As the AllisChalmers engineers pioneered the air and the rubber-tyred tractors, the farming community would expect to see the latest and the most advanced type at this stand. The new model B, with the capacity of a four-horse team and a fuel consumption of approximately half a gallon of kerosene or petrol per hour, created outstanding interest. This is the lowest priced and the most economical rubber-tyred tractor ever offered. For all farmers requiring a small light, tractor for haymaking, top-dressing, or furrowploughing work, this model B is Ideally suited. The new famous 1939 model “Allcrop” harvester manufactured by AllisChalmers and introduced into South Canterbury last year is being shown as a working model. Clover crops which could not have been secured by any other method of harvesting were collected by this harvester and hundreds of pounds worth of seed was recovered which otherwise would have been a total loss. The Allcrop is the lowest priced harvester offered to the grain growers and will handle wheat, peas, grass seed and clovers by means of a pick-up attachment or as a stationary thresher. All farmers interested in growing seed and small crops should see the Allcrop harvester. It is the reply to the present high cost of harvesting.
