CENTENARY OF STRICTER CUSTODY British Otncial Wireless (Received October 27, 6.30 p.m.) RUGBY, October 26. The centenary of the passing of the Act whereby all national archives are entrusted to the custody of the Master of Rolls was celebrated to-night by a reception at the Record Office, London, where most of the important State documents are preserved in 150 strongrooms. The guests included the Duke and Duchess of Kent, Cabinet Ministers, diplomats, historians and antiquaries. Some of the most interesting documents, including the Doomsday Book and the signatures of every English Sovereign since Richard 11, were on view.
