EX-PUPILS’ ANNUAL BALL A most successful ball was that of the Pareora West Ex-Pupils’ Association, which was held in the Otipua Hall on Monday night. The grand march, led by the secretary (Miss A. Stowell) and the president Mr D. Fraser), marked the commencement of the dance, which included several novelty dances in the programme, these being won as follows:—Lucky spot, grand march, Miss D. Bell and Mr I. Murray; first on floor, Miss M. Evans and Mr R. Thompson; Monte Carlo waltz, Miss D. Bell and Mr E. Parry; lucky cop, Miss Z. Hampton and Mr J. Murray. Cards were played by non-dancers, the winners being:—Women: Mrs J. Brosnan and Mrs F. Emmerson. Men: Mr H. Arden and Mr A. Godwin. At an interval during the evening the chairman presented the prizes and also thanked all for their presence and assistance for a successful evening. Those present included:—Mr and Mrs R. PERSONAL Mr F. Quigley has left to spend a holiday in Christchurch.
