ANNUAL MEETING At the annual meeting of the Waimataitai Cricket Club, the election of officers resulted as follows: Patron, Mr G. H. Andrews; president, Mr A. G. Foster; vice-presidents, Messrs W. G. Tweedy, E. D. Mcßae, B. Cullimore, W. Hawkey; committee, Messrs D. Andrews V. Stenhouse, A. McKenzie, N. Haywood, and L. Christensen; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr C. E. Bryce; trustees, Messrs A. G. Foster and B. Culimore; delegate to Association, Mr A. G. Foster; delegate to Ratepayers’ Association, Mr A. G. Foster; club captain, Mr D. Andrews; deputycaptain, Mr N. Haywood; ground committee, Messrs A. G. Foster, D. Andrews, B. Cullimore, C. E. Bryce. Several new members were elected. The enthusiasm of all present promises well for the coming season, which starts with a small credit balance. The success of the Club is in no small measure due to the tireless efforts of Mr A. G. Foster. GOLF WANGANUI LADIES’ TITLE By Telegraph—Press Association WANGANUI, September 29. The Wanganui ladies’ provincial golf championship concluded this afternoon in driving rain, Mrs R. C. Cook (Wanganui) beating Miss V. Fleming (Christchurch), 1 up. Mrs Cook was 3 up at the turn. In the semi-final Mrs Cook beat Mrs Newton 1 up and Miss Fleming beat Mrs FullertonSmith. MIRAMAR TOURNAMENT By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, September 29. The Miramar women’s open golf tournament was concluded to-day. The championship was won by Mrs D. A. Crombie (Wellington), a member of the New Zealand women’s golf team which visited Australia this year. In the semi-final Mrs Crombie beat Miss Wheeler (Wellington) 5 and 4, and Mrs Pearce (Miramar) beat Mrs Lewis (Hutt) 3 and 1. In the final Mrs Crombie beat Mrs Pearce 6 and 5. The Miramar Handicap was won by Mrs Ellison (Manor Park), who beat Miss V. Campbell (Tlmaru) in the final 7 and 6.
