WEDDING

VOIGHT—HANIFIN At the Sacred Heart Church, Timaru, Eileen Mary, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs M. Hanifin, “Belmont,” Fairlie, was united in the bonds of matrimony to Leslie Charles, second son of Mr and Mrs J. C. Voight, “Spring Terrace,” Cricklewood. The Rev. Father S. O'Connor S.M. officiated. The bride who entered the church with her father, wore a fitting frock of white satin cloque. The bodice, which was made with a cowl neckline, was finished with a tiny row of buttons, the same effect being carried out on the sleeves. She wore a beautiful hand-embroidered veil held in place by a coronet of orange blossoms and lily of the valley and carried a shower bouquet of freesias, hyacinths and maidenhair fern. The bride was attended by her sister Miss Mollie Hanifin and Miss Shona Voight sister of the bridegroom. They were dressed alike in blue satin cloque frocks made on similar lines to that of the bride. They wore head-bands of blue ribbon and forget-me-nots and carried posies to match their frocks. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr Jack Voight and Mr Pat Hanifin was groomsman. As the bride was leaving the church she was presented with a silver horseshoe by her little brother Teddy and wee Joyce Wilson, niece of the bridegroom. The reception was held at the Stafford tearooms where the bride’s parents assisted by the bridegroom's parents received the guests. The bride’s mother wore a navy tailored costume with a blue shoulder spray and hat. Mrs Voight wore a wine figured crepe satin frock with shoulder spray to match. Later in the day the happy couple left for the south by car, the bride travelling in a navy tailored costume with matching accessories.
