MEETING OF EXECUTIVE At a meeting of the executive of the South Canterbury Football Association, those present were Messrs R. Taylor, J. Duncan, H. Fleetwood, A. Taylor, H. Dods and R. Green (chairman). Correspondence was received from the Canterbury Football Association confirming October 8 for the school and senior representative games in Christchurch. An application from the Seacliff Club for a game was declined owing to no date being available. The secretary reported that arrangements were well in hand for the r -lai evening, when trophies and medals will be presented. Satisfaction was expressed at the success of the five a-side and the interest of sister codes. The draw for Saturday is as follows: Marist A v. Cobbers, 1.30 p.m., Mr R. Taylor; Probables v. Possibles, 3 p.m., Mr A. Nicol. The following have been declared winners of the competitions:— Cave Cup: Northern; runners-up, Pirates. Fraser Cup: Northern; runners-up, Pirates. Waltaki Cup: Technical; runners-up, Old Boys. Connor Shield: Marist A; runnersup, Cobbers. The selectors (Messrs Taylor and Fleetwood), have selected the following teams for Saturday:— Probables: Wynn, J. Stack, Bishop, Stare, J. Cordiner, Thomas, Smith, W. Stack, Johnman, J. GOLF FERRIER WILL NOT MEET LOCKE United Press Association—By Electric Tel egraph—Copyrigh t (Received September 27, 10.45 p.m.) SYDNEY, September 27. The golfer, Jim Ferrier, announced that he will not appear in exhibition matches next week-end against Bobby Locke of South Africa, who won the British Open Championship. Ferrier holds six major golf titles. Although Australia’s outstanding golfer, Jim Ferrier was left out of the Australian team which recently visited Britain. It was stated that other qualifications, other than golfing ability, were lacking in Ferrier, and for that reason he was not chosen. OHINEMURI JOCKEY CLUB By Telegraph—Press Association AUCKLAND, September 27. As the number of acceptors for the Kerepeehi Hack Handicap at the Ohinemuri meeting on Saturday exceeds the safety number of 23 for five furlongs, provision has been made for divisions as follows: First Division: Little Ruse, Maxam, Nkawiri, Orwere, Phiakuo, Poland. Gold Petal, Tririri, Rackle, Misora, Bronze Step, King Stroud, Sir Robin.
