REMARKS IN HOUSE
DISRESPECT ALLEGED By Telegraph—Press Association WAIPUKURAU, July 13. At a meeting attended by over 50 returned men called to protest against the remarks of Mr A. Campbell, Member for Chalmers, who stated on July 8 that the Four Colonels recently retired should “be stripped of their peacock feathers," the following resolution was passed with four dissenting voices: “That this representative meeting of ex-servicemen of Central Hawke’s Bay deplores the disrespectful remarks used by the Member for Chalmers in respect of His Majesty’s uniform, and further that a protest be forwarded to the Members concerned through the Member for this District.”
