The estimated attendance in the newsroom at the Timaru Public Library during June was 6318 persons. Book Issues for the month totalled 19,785 volumes, as against 18,647 volumes in June, 1937.
It is announced that Mr G. W. Simpson, who was chosen as the Labour candidate to contest the Patea seat in the General Election, has been appointed organiser for Taranaki Province. This means that another candidate will require to be chosen in his place.
