Third Grade Team Withdraws

The South Canterbury Rugby Union was last night advised by the Star Club that it had had to withdraw its third grade team from the competition owing to lack of players.

Mahan at first five-eighths for the Blues. Mahan has been on the bank for some years, but produced form on Saturday which ranks him with the best in South Canterbury at present. Fast off the mark, he sidestepped and jinked his way through the Celtic defence to pave the way for two of Old Boys’ tries, and saved his side when they were on defence on innumerable occasions.
