NO TOLERATION
THIRD PARTY INTERVENTION By Telegraph—Press Association PALMERSTON NORTH, Mar. 31. “If a member of Parliament, or any other person, interviews m e outside this room about an application, that application will not be heard,” said Mr P. O. Skoglund, Transport Licensing Authority, in making an emphatic statement that he was not to be approached except through strictly official channels for licenses, or amendments thereto. “I made a statement some months ago, and I wish to make it again,” said Mr Skoglund, “in connectiu- with intervention by members of Parliament, or other persons who think they have some brief measure of authority. It is useless asking anyone, especially a member of Parliament, to come to me to intervene on behalf of any applicant in a case under the notice of the Authority.” Skoglund said that he had been approached by a member of Parliament In W llington, but as that was before he had made the current statement, he would not take it into account;. Later, ; decision w.-.r given favourable to the applicant.
