BLENHEIM SESSIONS By telegraph—Press Association BLENHEIM, March 8 Having pleaded guilty to charges of breaking and entering the premises of Scoullar and Co., w’ith intent to commit a crime, and attempted breaking and entering the shop of Geo. Perry next door. Noel Headley Gibson (27), carrier? was sentenced to nine months’ reformative treatment by Mr Justice Kennedy in the Supreme Court this morning. Counsel urged that the offences, which were the first of the kind the accused had committed, w r ere the result of sudden temptation under the stress of financial troubles and the effect of drink. The crimes were attempted at 9.30 on a late shopping night —scarcely the time one skilled in such matters would choose. Percy Gordon Rayner (22) was admitted to probation for two years for a false declaration under the Marriage Act, when he married a girl under the age of 21 without the consent of the parents.
